S.M.A.R.T. (Specific – Measurable – Achievable – Realistic – Time-related) approach, “SYSTEM – Supporting Youth in STEM

Following a S.M.A.R.T. (Specific – Measurable – Achievable – Realistic – Time-related) approach, “SYSTEM – Supporting Youth in STEM” is a project which aims to:
1) To promote interest and excellence in Science, Technology, Engineering and Mathematics (STEM) and the STEAM
approach between thirty young students and forty youth workers (like high-school teachers, STEAM teachers and youth
services providers) from Cáceres, Badajoz and Mérida in Spain, Paternò in Italy and Istanbul in Turkey.
From the first objective we expect to contribute to the development of national STEM strategies in the three involved
countries.
Being [SCHOOL EDUCATION: Promoting interest and excellence in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics
(STEM) and the STEAM approach] the main priority of our project, the first objective is completely linked to it because the
partnership wishes to give value to this quite new area that still many educational professionals and their learners do not
understand in a right way.
2) To produce high-quality effective and innovative pedagogies and assessment methods through a 2-year transnational
partnership between different educational entities from two programme countries like Spain and Italy and one third country
associated to the programme like Turkey.
From the second objective we expect to improve several personal and professional competences regarding learning and
teaching for all the participants joining the planned LTTAs (Learning Teaching Training Activities).
Being [SCHOOL EDUCATION: Supporting teachers, school leaders and other teaching professions] the first additional
priority of our project, the second objective is completely linked to it because the original idea focuses on the empowerment
of professionals working on education and with young people.
3) To strengthen the capacities and to gain experience in international cooperation of three high-schools with different levels
of experience in Erasmus+ projects, one Erasmus+ newcomer STEAM center and one association with some knowledge on
Erasmus+ KA 2 project management.
From the third objective we expect to reinforce some important skills like the organizational ones in each of the participating
organizations for them all to ensure a proper project’s cycle management in the short, medium and long term.
Being [SCHOOL EDUCATION: Recognition of learning outcomes for participants in cross-border learning mobility] the
second additional priority of our project, the third objective is linked to it because the involved stakeholders are going to
discover how to recognize STEM learning outcomes which are related to the well-know Non-Formal Education methods that
the Erasmus+ cross-border mobilities use to promote
